[436] "Dubuque Claim": land on Mississippi River bought from Sac and Fox Indians in 1774; granted to Dubuque by Spanish Governor in 1796; approved by Land Com'r in 1806; recognized in treaties of 1804 and 1832 with the Sacs and Foxes; occupants of said land ejected by military power in 1833.
